The mission of UNESCO and International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) on the World Heritage Site 'Western Caucasus' will be held at the end of this month.
The experts of an authoritative international organization will visit Krasnodar Territory and The Republic of Adygea for giving an evaluation of preservation an object of World Heritage and detection of the progress, achieved in realization of decisions of UNESCO World Heritage Committee and recommendations of previous UNESCO and IUCN mission, 2010.
The representatives of UNESCO and IUCN will spend 5 days in the region. During this time they are going to have a helicopter and automobile inspection of the territories of the World Heritage, including The Lagonaki Upland, Fisht and Oshten mountains, natural monuments «Riverhead Tsitsa», «Ridge Buiniy», «Upstreams Pshekha and Pshehashha» and other objects.
There will be also held meetings with the participation of the representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, OJSC «Northern Caucasus Resorts», local administrations of the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea. Experts will meet with members of non-governmental organizations and associations of Adygea. During one of the meetings OJSC «Northern Caucasus Resorts» will present information about the project on the development of the tourist cluster in the North Caucasus. According to the results of the mission there will be a meeting in Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Russia and will be prepared a report, which the World Heritage Committee will consider at its 37th session in 2013.
The Caucasian State Nature Biosphere Reserve and its buffer zone in the Republic of Adygea (now abolished), natural monuments «Riverhead Tsitsa», «Ridge Buiniy», «upstream Pshekha and Pshehashha», Nature Park «Big Thach» are the parts of the World Heritage site «Western Caucasus».
