Russian Federation Government Decree No. 238 dated February 28, 2017 transferred the authority for management of special economic zones in the North Caucasus Federal District, previously reserved to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, to the Ministry of the North Caucasus Affairs of the Russian Federation.

A comprehensive development strategy of the tourist industry shall be created for regions of the North Caucasus Federal District. The Ministry of the North Caucasus Affairs of the Russian Federation shall take up the development of the document, with the involvement of industry experts and representatives of tourist business.

The tourist flow to All-Season Tourist Resort Arkhyz since its commissioning in December 2013 exceeded half a million people. The dynamics of growth of the number of visitors from season to season amounted to 25% in 2015 and 30% following the results of 2016.

At the meeting of the Expert Council for special economic zones at the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation held today in Moscow the business plans of the residents of tourist recreational special economic zones managed by Joint-Stock Company Northern Caucasus Resorts have been approved to the amount approximately 5 billion rubles.

In 2017 Joint-Stock Company Northern Caucasus Resorts will attract about 2.5 billion rubles of private investments to special economic zones within the North Caucasus tourism cluster. The corresponding performance indicator of the management company is fixed in the plans of JSC NCR for the current year. The funds will be invested by new residents of SEZ of tourist recreational type.

The resorts of the North Caucasus created by JSC NCR within the tourism cluster project were presented at the international tourism exhibition Ferien-Messe Wien in Vienna. This project has become a part of presentation of the national tourist product of Russia in the run-up to the cross Russia-Austria Tourism Year in 2017.
